Weekend, why are you always over so fast?

It was a quiet weekend, spent some time geocaching around the city, including the huge park up the road.
The boys went to a movie
This little girly figured out how to get herself into a sitting position while in her crib
You can see how excited she was at this accomplishment
Keegan got a new bike!  His old one was too small and the chain wouldn't stay on, he says "This new bike was built for speed!"
Always excited to see her brother!
 Watching him ride
 Chewing on dad's strings
And tomorrow it's back to school for Keegan and Josh starts his training for the ICU.

SEVEN

He's SEVEN!  And what a great seven years it's been!

Keegan got to go to the Lego store in Bellevue for his present from us.  I told him he could pick out whatever he wanted.  So we drove up there and because there wasn't any major traffic and somehow it's closer than I imagined we got there 45 minutes before the stores opened.  Pure torture for a kid who's been waiting to go to this store for over a month!

Waiting....waiting..........waiting.
We wandered around the mall a bit while we were waiting but he kept getting antsy that we were getting too far away from the Lego store.

By the time the store opened there was a little crowd all waiting for it to open,  There were probably 6 kids standing there waiting.  Any time the employees came near the door they all got excited that MAYBE it was time.

Once they opened Keegan calmly walked in and picked up the box he's had his eye on for weeks and announced that he was done.  It was a $20 set and when I told him to go pick something else (meaning more) he got upset that I was trying to make him pick something different not realizing that I mean go pick out something MORE.  This is his birthday present from us after all.  In the end he got another box the same size and also a smaller set.  I picked up for him the Lego Christmas ornament for next year and also a ton of a certain block to make a display for all his mini-figures.  He was one happy boy and as we were walking out of the store he told us that now all he wanted to do was go home so he could play.

A little Keegan funny

This is just a little Keegan story that made me chuckle.  My friend drives Keegan home on occasion, if it's raining or Carleigh is napping.  She lives close and has been a life saver.  Well last week when she drove him home she notice that Keegan's teacher had circled something on his homework and put a question mark next to it.  He had ended 2 of his spelling test sentences with an !  So she said to him, "it looks like Mr. Edwards was confused about your sentances" To which he repiled, "I know, I just wanted them to be exciting" (said while shaking his head) I love how his cute little mind works, I love that he's having such a great time in school.  His report card came home last week and his teacher had written in that he is "at or above grade level in all subjects"  Makes this mama proud.

9 months

High Chair Project

After finding out the Keegan's high chair that I'd saved had a pretty serious recall as well as the one my friend was going to give me I decided that I was going to find an old wooden one with no plastic parts that would be recalled.
So after looking for MONTHS I found this beauty on Craigslist, I was so excited that it was in my own city, not somewhere so far away that it wasn't worth the drive.  So then I find out that the person selling it lives ON OUR STREET!  So perfect!
Here it is before, it's solid wood, sturdy, and in great condition.  The whole time I was looking I had the perfect color in mind for me to paint it.  A light buttery yellow.

So I found the perfect yellow, it was exactly what I had been wanting and......... I hated it!  It was the color I had imagined but ended up looking wrong.  It looked like an old chair with the original paint from the 60's still on it.  I couldn't have that for our baby girl.  So....

I shocked everyone and went PINK.  It is now perfect for Carleigh and as you can see she loves it.

8 Months and Counting

Our cute Carleigh Girl is 8 months old this month.  She sits solidly on her own, is doing her best to get into crawling position but ends up scooting backwards on the rare occasion she tries.  Carleigh LOVES food  and so far hasn't turned her nose up at anything.  She loves to clap and make this really cute squishy nosed face.

You all know I have a thing for cute little baby feet, she loves to sit with her feet crossed.

She posed herself, too bad she wouldn't smile.

Happy New Year!

We had a great year here this year, here's a quick year in review.

In January we had a city stopping snow storm, we had a blast even when the power was out for 4 days. We built snowmen and Keegan loved every minute out in the snow.

In February this cute boy turned 6, he got the light up shoes he wanted and had a party here at the house.

In March we had some nice weather, it would rain all week but then the sun would come out every weekend.  We made sure to get to the park as often as possible.  Keegan also learned to ride a 2 wheeler, with 5 minutes of great instruction from Dad, he was off on his own.

In April we enjoyed some great weather, we planted flowers and since Keegan learned to ride his bike the month before we spent a lot of time outside.

In May this little cutie joined our family making it complete.  Because of this cutie, Tyler was here for a week.  He was just the 1st of many visitors.

In June we had both my Mom and the Viehwegs come to visit, Keegan finished Kindergarten and we started our 1st summer vacation from school.

In July Mimi came to visit, we had a great time!  We visited the Mushroom Festival where we enjoyed yummy food and Keegan got to play on all the bouncy toys. We also enjoyed watching the sunflower Keegan grew from a seed grow like a fairy tale beanstalk.

In August we went to Island Park and spent almost 2 wks camping, we had fun going to Yellowstone, shopping in West Yellowstone and of course looking for moose in the evening.  And our cute Carleigh couldn't have been a better little camper, I know most people wouldn't take a 3 month old on a camping trip but she was a trooper and loved taking her baths in a bucket.  While we were gone our sunflower exploded upwards!

In September Keegan became a 1st grader, he loves school and is happy to go everyday.  It was also the start of salmon season, Carleigh and I joined Josh and enjoyed just being outside.  We found out that she fit right into his waders.  This was also the same day he caught the biggest fish of his life, it was TASTY.  Our sunflower finally maxed out and bloomed.

In October we had Halloween, Keegan was a Power Ranger and Carleigh was the cutest little sushi I've ever seen.  She barley fit into my pumpkin and then peed in it, we also had more visitors.  Jacey and Jon came, we did lots of fun things including going to the beach.

In November this cutie turned 6 months old, we enjoyed Thanksgiving home with just the 4 of us.

In December we spent 2 weeks in SLC for Christmas, we visited as many friends and family as we could.  We got lots of fun presents, ate great food and played as hard as we could.  It snowed quite a bit while we were there and there were times all Keegan could think about was getting out there and playing in it, even if it was 6:45 in the morning

Christmas in Utah

We spent Christmas in Utah this year.  We realized that we hadn't been there for Christmas since 2007!  Twice we'd been in town NEAR Christmas but not acutally ON Christmas.

I didn't take many photos, I just enjoyed the moments.

Here's cute Carleigh Girl in one of her pre Christmas dresses.

Here's Mimi with her new scarf, I'm sure she'll appreciate this picture being on my blog, oh well, it's one of the few pics I took and I'm not sure she looks here anyway.

Here's the one picture I got of presents being opened, this one is from Mimi.  We had a great time being home for Christmas

6 Months!! Where does the time go??

Can you believe it?  The last 6 months have flown by!

Happy Girl who would rather chew on her toes than let me take picture.

No longer does the owl just get to sit by her.

She's so so close to sitting up on her own, I'm cheating in this picture and propping her up with my feet under the blanket.

Ooops, she sees a toy, that's more exciting for sure!

On a roll, she rolls, and rolls

She rolls herself right off my blanket "set"
