Colored my hair....it turned out alright. I was really scared though when standing there with the dye in my hair I read the fine print that says that this dye contains 3 different shades of red pigment and that if your hair is 25% or more gray you shouldn't use it. #1 How in the world am I supposed to know if I have 25% gray if I color it every 6 wks #2 I'm hoping it is only 24%

Our Trip to Disneyland

We decided a while ago that for Keegan's 5th birthday we would go to Disneyland. I think, we were way more excited than he was, especially since when we asked him if he wanted to go he said "what's Disneyland?"
By the time the day came to leave he was excited. I had showed him everything I could on-line about Disneyland and told him how he would get to meet all the characters.
So here's my cute little man in his mouse hat.

Ok, we'll have to back up a day though. The day we got to Cali we didn't run straight over to Disney. We decided since part of the day would already be gone we would wait till the next day to start our adventure in the happiest place on earth. So...we went to the beach for a little bit, went to Medieval Times and Keegan spent some time leaping from one bed to another.

When we finally got to Disneyland we let Keegan take the lead. He decided on The Matterhorn for his first ride in the park. I was a little worried since the biggest ride he's ever been on is the Elmo's Flying Fish ride at Sea World and it's kind of like the Dumbo ride. But he got in his bobsled ready to see the Abominable Snowman, he rode with Josh and I was constantly listening for any sign that he was unhappy but as we got off the ride I heard "I wanna do that again!"
We also did Small World, the Tiki Room, Tarzan's Tree house and of course stayed for the fireworks.

Keegan was lucky enough to meet ALMOST all of the characters. If you ask him he will let you know that we didn't get to see Daisy Duck.

Here he is with the Big Mouse Himself. We headed over to California Adventure as well where we went to the Bugs Life Theater and Land. We also got to see Lightening McQueen and Mater

He loved the rapids ride, I think the part he loved the best was where I got soaked and also listening to "Pa'' freak out about the ride. It was kind of funny.

We had a great time in Disneyland. He was also brave enough to go on The Tower of Terror, and while he didn't scream, cry, or pee his pants he let us know that he didn't need to do that one again. In the end his favorite ride ended up being Thunder Mtn RR with The Matterhorn following as a close 2nd.

I made some today to take to the maintenance men here at the complex. They are so helpful and nice. When we were out of town they noticed that UPS had left a package at the door of our new apartment so they picked it up and put it inside the apartment. Then I left something silly and totally replaceable at the old apartment after we had moved out and when he found it he walked it over to me at the new apartment.

Toffee

1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Butter a square pan. Spread pecans in pan. Heat sugar and butter to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil over med heat, stirring constantly, for 7 minutes. It will start to smell like it is burning, but that is the way it is supposed to smell towards the end. Immediately spread mixture evenly over nuts in pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips over hot mixture. Place baking sheet over pan so chocolate will melt. Spread while hot. Cut into squares and chill.

Day 49

The loudest game EVER!
Thanks to "Pa" Keegan got this game in the mail as a late b-day gift. Now I remember when I was young this game was loud anyway but now.......it's so stinking loud!!
Instead of drawing a card that tells you what you have to remove, each part has a sound effect that goes with it. So say when you hear the FART sound you have to remove the skull and cross bones that represent noxious fumes. There is a dog one that is so loud Koda came running out of our bedroom looking for the dog he just heard.
Pa, the next time we come to visit we're bringing this so you can play for hours and hours with Keegs.

The cold weather has kept us indoors. I've had to be creative trying to find something to keep Keegan busy. We've done a lot of crafts. Keegan has found that he loves to glue things. I hadn't ever let him use anything but a glue stick before because real glue just sounds too messy. But, I gave in and now all he wants to do is glue things.
