Funny little story

We were in the car today when I hear Keegan in the back seat say

"I have some rules for the next time we spend the night in a hotel."

I said "rules, you have rules for us?"

He says
"Yes,
Rule #1 stay in your room.
Rule #2 if you are thinking of having a party in your hotel room, don't do it! and
Rule #3 if there is a bug in your room, you squish it with a book."

When I asked him where he heard all of this he told me "Koda" (our dog)

So really, where does he come up with this stuff?

Super Hero Keegan

Keegan decided that he needed some super hero accessories. So he opted for a head lamp and goggles.
Posing for just a second. I think it's hilarious that the goggles are sucking one eye and one is being pulled and is kind of squinty.
The super hero needed a computer break.

Keegans Crazy Faces

So here are some of the faces I got while trying to get some pictures today.
The only semi-normal one in the bunch
When I tell him to give me his "Zombie Face" he refuses to do it as "scary" as he normally does.

I tell him to smile and I get "squinty eyes"
And this, I believe is the one that means "ENOUGH PICTURES MOM"

Siesta in Old Town

Today we went to Old Town. We've been there before, obviously. But it's got some really fun shops. There is a Christmas Store that has great ornaments and also some really yummy stuff too. And then there are always the normal touristy shops.
Here's my cute little man taking a siesta in his sombrero.
Ok, so maybe no siesta was involved. But he's still cute right.
And no trip to Old Town is complete without a trip to The Candy Lady. It's a super yummy candy and chocolate shop.

My little helper

I decided to make cookies the other night. Keegan wanted to help, we decided on Snickerdoodles. I found out very quickly that even if it is necessary to make cookies, he still doesn't like getting his hands messy. I tried to get him to help me mix with his hands but, it quickly turned into him NEEDING to wash his hands. He did however love sneaking tastes of the dough.
Here his is snacking on the finished product.

Cannonball!!!

Keegans new pool trick. The other day I just described what to do, and next thing I know he is leaping off the side yelling "Cannon gurgle gurgle" Most of the time he can't get the whole word out before he is under water.

Bottomless Lake State Park (Roswell)

The week before we left Roswell, we found a fun place to go play. It is a State Park just outside the city. It has a really nice lake for swimming. With lifeguards and everythigng. The have a nice sandy beach to play on and the water was at a temperature that Keegan could actually stand to play in.

Because there was a nice sandy beach, we stopped and bought a bucket and shovels. At one point on the drive I turn around and this is what I see.
What a goof.

He loved building sand castles and then using little rocks as windows.

Flip Flops

Here is the picnic table area. So nice and shaded the whole time.

He finally let me burry him in the sand. He realized that the sand was warm so when he got cold it didn't sound like a bad idea.
The State Park has other lakes you can hike to and fish. But right at Lea Lake there is a campground, you can rent paddle boats or even scuba there.

Less Hair Than He Was Born With

So Keegan got the shortest haircut of his life. Almost 2 weeks ago he ended up with a cut on his head that I super glued closed. (With Dr's permission and supervision) Well, to glue it I had to cut his hair in that area. Skip to today, cut healed beautifully but while superglue comes off the skin after about 7-10 days it doesn't come off of hair very well. To get the glue out of his hair I had to again cut his hair in the affected area, which left him with an annoying (to me) bald spot.

Here is is tonight at about 6:30
Midway at about 6:35 with the male pattern baldness going on.

And then the AFTER.

This is the smallest amount of hair this kid has ever had. He was born with a full head of hair and got his first haircut at 9 wks old because it was out of control. It is soooo drastically different that I'm positive I don't like it. He however, doesn't care at all. He thinks he looks like our good friend Tyler. Oh well.

I told him I was sorry and asked if he would grow it back for me and he said, "Well sure, I'll try" I also asked him when he would grow it back and he told me he would do it "while I'm sleeping" and he told me it will take 10 days. I hope it grows back that fast.

A Couple of Keegan Funnies

So the things that come out of this kids mouth are usually sweet and nice, but sometimes it is just down right loud. Then there are the times that he just keeps me laughing.

The other day he was wearing a pair of pants that are just too big in the waist. I have to roll the waistband just to keep them up. So at one point I noticed his pants were falling down and I told him "your drawers are falling down" he looked at me and replied "What?!? my drawers" he then turned and ran up the stairs to go push in his dresser drawers.

First thing this morning he asked me how old I was. I told him and he looked right at me and said "Wow, that's a lot"

It's kind of funny how he just says exactly what he is thinking even if I didn't want to be reminded of how old I was.

We'll just have to see what he comes up with tomorrow.

New Trick

While at dinner last night "Pa" taught Keegan a new trick. He did it on his first try.
He has been having a great time with "Pa". Who else lets him play in the street, sit on the edge of the balcony, stay up late, and teach him silly tricks at a restaurant? (not me thats for sure)

Just needed somthing new

Nothing too exciting to report, still in ABQ and waiting to come home to UT for the winter. So since I hadn't posted anything new in a while I thought I would post these. I mean, who doesn't like clean kids and bubble baths?

I'm sure going to miss this tub. It is so big, especially for an apartment bathroom.

The Eyes of Keegan

Squinty eyes
Mean Eyes

BIG Eyes

Shify Eyes

This is what happens when I try to get pics of the little man. Such a stinker, but so cute at the same time.

Just a funny little story

So, some of you know that my kid is a picky eater. He will eat most any fruit or veggie and bread products but NO meat. And well he is truly part Viehweg cause he LOVES ice cream like the rest of them. But tonight while "Pa" and Grandma were in town we went to the mall to kill some time. While we were there we decided to hit up the food court for a late dinner (we had an amazing lunch and weren't too hungry) They decided that they were going to eat at Edo. We asked Keegs multiple times if he was hungry, he was adamant that he was not. Well, since "Pa" was here he got a snow cone instead. Once they got there food they came and joined us were I was sitting with Keegan who was happily eating his snow cone. After a few bites "Pa" asks if Keegs wants some broccoli, to which he replies "Yes'' he then proceeds to eat all of the broccoli in the dish that they were sharing and then requested more. I had to go buy a side of broccoli for him. He ate the whole thing!!! Meanwhile, his snow cone, once pushed aside, sat there melting. Now tell me....what 3 year old chooses BROCCOLI over a SNOW CONE. Probably only mine. Oh well, I guess I don't mind too much. :)

"Mom look at that fast Chicken"

So here in Albuquerque we have roadrunners. They are all over and we see them almost everyday. Well, the other day as we were parking the car he yelled out "Mom, look at that fast chicken." When I look up, sure enough there is one running right outside the car.

Tell me, does this look like a chicken?

Chef Keegan

Here is Chef Keegan getting ready to make brownies. He really loves his chef outfit and helping in the kitchen.

Ready to start wisking

Trying to keep it in the bowl

Time to clean up

The aftermath

Luckily the brownies were just for us, anytime his wisk was getting low on batter he would dip it back in the bowl before I could stop him.

He is 3!!! I can't believe it!!!

I can not believe it!!! When did this happen. Time goes by sooo fast. Yesterday was Keegan's 3rd birthday. We had a lot of fun, and had a great day!!

I think this is my favorite pic of the day. Chef Keegan making play dough cookies.
This was in the morning as we started opening presents.

Uncle Jon gave his a set of velcro rackets and balls that stick to it.

Here is the present from "Pa" a very life like toy drill. We should have been warned about this one. He didn't want to open anything else after this one.

This is Jacey's box, full of the ingredients to make the delicious play-dough cookies.

The drill again, now out of the box and being put to good use.

Chef Keegan in the morning.

At Chuck-E-Cheese.
On a tiny carosel.

A big monster truck.

Making a wish. He didn't cry this year when we sang. He did tell us not to, but we did it anyway.

Finally able to get the whole chef outfit on. He looked so cute.

Working diligently on his materpiece.

Thanks everyone for making Keegans birthday great. He has had so much fun with all of his new stuff. He plays with all of it!

Bubble Beard

Keegan playing in the tub. These tend to be my favorite pics.

Mouse nose that came with his kids meal.
Slowest slide I have ever seen. He would acutally get stuck and have to wiggle the rest of the way down.

Playing the small version of "Wack-a-mole"

Josh got a new video game. It is a game that involves a lot of shooting. This is Keegan getting in on the action. I am sure a pop gun is the gun of choice.

The mysterious disaperance of a certain large purple Dinosaur.

So for Christmas Keegan got tub crayons. Washable crayons to use on the walls of the tub. They came with multiple colors and a cute ducky sponge to wash the walls with. I do have to say that the instructions don't tell you just how much fun they are for mom to clean up. While they are washable my 3 year old doesn't have any intrest in washing the walls. Well this night I gave him the purple crayon, the next time I looked at the tub, it looked like Barney had met his demise in our tub. The purple turned out to be the hardest to get off. It actually stained our tub and I had to get out the Comet with bleach to cover up the scene of the crime. Keegan has a great time with these crayons, maybe next time they will be reserved for Jen and Ben's house. ha ha

This wouldn't happen to be the face of a trouble maker would it??
