Fun in "Alba Turkey"

So far things in Albuquerque have been great. We have a brand new park right by our house, Keegan loves it. He now thinks he is just like the big boys. He can now climb up the slide like he has seen others do so many times.
On Monday we went to the Rio Grande Zoo. I is such a nice zoo. They have a lot of animals all in nice enclosures. This is Keegs sitting with a sculputre of a Mexican Wolf aka.. a Lobo.

They have the zoo divided to corrispond with the regions of the world that the animals came from. This was a throne in the African region.

Me and Keegan together.

This is what I was most excited for. Moe the hippo. The last time we went to the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake we discovered that our hippo Moe, had been moved to another zoo, the Rio Grande Zoo in Albuquerque. He is now happily married and has a baby. His enclosure at the zoo in SLC always made me sad, you all know it, cement walls and that is about it. Here he has a nice pond and it is outside so he can get some sun too. This isn't the greatest picture but I promise the grey blob in the water is him. His lovely wife and baby are in the picture too.

Keegs riding the Kimodo Dragon sculpture, this was a hard picture to get, he kept sliding off.

This zoo has 2 gorgeous tigers. They were hanging out for everyone to see this guy was just watching the activity while the other was in and out of the pond. I love tigers.

So pretty!!

Just Stuff

Here is just some stuff that didn't fit on the last post. On our first night here we had pizza for dinner. We followed the GPS to the Cottonwood Mall, next to the mall was a yummy pizza place. Almost everything here in the state of the chilies has chilies on it. We had a pizza with green chilies on it. Not what I would have asked for but it was yummy.

Mr. Blue eyes eating black beans at Cafe Rio, our favorite.

Riding his bike on the walkway at "Pa's" house with his helmet from the Midvale FD

On our drive to find Josh's hospital we gave Keegs some skittles to keep him happy and I turned around to find him sleeping with his hand still in the package.

Hunting for easter eggs at the Viehweg's house. He really got into it this year and had a lot of fun.

Josh has his 1st night at work tonight, hope it goes well. He also works the next 2 days as well, so Keegan and I will be off to find the Library, and a nice park to play at to keep us busy. We still haven't tried out the pool here, maybe that will be on our to do list as well.

Albuquerque

Welcome to Albuquerque

This is what we wake up to. There were 10 this morning.

Keegans room, looks familar, don't you think.

We went to Old Town today. There is a large fountain Keegan wanted to keep throwing rocks in, sounds like him right.

Route 66 runs through the middle of the city.

On our way down here we passed Wilson arch. Keegan keeps saying that there was a hole in the mountain.

One of the shops we went in today, in Old Town, had HUGE foam cowboy hats. Keegan wanted to buy this one.

So far Albuquerque has been nice. The weather is so much different than Spokane, we don't know what to do with all of this sun. More to come, we found the zoo, aquarium, and botanical gardens today. So much to do... pictures to come.

Crazy Drivers!!!

This is just a complaint post so I thought I should confine it to itself. On our way down to Albuquerque, I noticed before we were even out of UT that Colorado Drivers were NUTS!! It didn't matter that I was doing at least 5 over the speed limit I would get passed, I would look and sure enough it was some crazy Colorado driver. Okay, now I feel better.

Albuquerque here we come!!!

NO waiting for us this time. Sheeesh, we got a call last night from a hospital in Albuquerque and they want Josh to start on Monday. Josh hadn't even heard from his recruiter that his stuff had been sent there. Talk about hurry up and pack. We are probably going to leave on Saturday and depending on how the drive goes could get there that night or sometime on Sunday. Leaving Josh just enough time to go to the store and maybe find his hospital so that he can report to work on Monday.

Happy Birthday Baby Austin

Well baby Austin is here. 7 lbs 8 oz. and 21 inches long. Boy was my guess way off. He was born this morning after terrorizing his mom for way too long. I have been told that he has a lot of hair and a Butt Chin. Hmmm sounds like someone else we know. I don't have pictures yet (and it is driving me nuts) but will post some as soon as someone sends me some. I hate being far away when fun things like this happen. Jen you are awsome and I can't wait to see him. Congrats you guys I am sure that you make the cutest family.

Chef Keegan

Here is Chef Keegan getting ready to make brownies. He really loves his chef outfit and helping in the kitchen.

Ready to start wisking

Trying to keep it in the bowl

Time to clean up

The aftermath

Luckily the brownies were just for us, anytime his wisk was getting low on batter he would dip it back in the bowl before I could stop him.

Only One Day Later

Only 1 day after I posted my last post saying that I wished that Tyler would come and visit he did. He called the next day and asked if it was going to be alright to come and visit. It was just a quick trip but we tried to see as much of Spokane as we could.
Here is Keegan and Tyler in Riverfront Park.

We have lived here almost 6 months and never saw the falls. We had been to the park before but never went onto the right bridge.

Who knew this was here? It took a visitor to Spokane to tell us that it was there.

Close up. Lots of water!!

He is 3!!! I can't believe it!!!

I can not believe it!!! When did this happen. Time goes by sooo fast. Yesterday was Keegan's 3rd birthday. We had a lot of fun, and had a great day!!

I think this is my favorite pic of the day. Chef Keegan making play dough cookies.
This was in the morning as we started opening presents.

Uncle Jon gave his a set of velcro rackets and balls that stick to it.

Here is the present from "Pa" a very life like toy drill. We should have been warned about this one. He didn't want to open anything else after this one.

This is Jacey's box, full of the ingredients to make the delicious play-dough cookies.

The drill again, now out of the box and being put to good use.

Chef Keegan in the morning.

At Chuck-E-Cheese.
On a tiny carosel.

A big monster truck.

Making a wish. He didn't cry this year when we sang. He did tell us not to, but we did it anyway.

Finally able to get the whole chef outfit on. He looked so cute.

Working diligently on his materpiece.

Thanks everyone for making Keegans birthday great. He has had so much fun with all of his new stuff. He plays with all of it!

Valentines Weekend

This Valentines day we had a different kind of day. Unfortunately, my uncle Jerry passed away un-expectedly, a shock to us all! The Memorial open house was on Saturday, Valentines day. We drove to Montana on Friday and met all of my family. Some of which I hadn't seen in years, so long in fact that Josh hadn't met some of them. It was great to see all of my family, even if the reason for the gathering was so unfortunate.
Because it was Valentines day, I made the boys breakfast in bed. Luckily the hotel had a waffle maker. Keegan really enjoyed his breakfast.
Keegan made a new best friend. This is Chris, my cousin Matt's youngest boy. These 2 were so cute together. And the face that Chris is pulling is one that I am POSITIVE my parents have pictures of his dad doing the same one. Keegan also got a new dinosaur book, he told anyone who would listen about it.
Since my sisters husband Dan had never been to Hamilton, we walked around the little down town area. Dan has very sensitive ears, apparently, this is him wearing my moms scarf on his head to keep his ears warm.

Then when we got back to the car they got him a hat, my dad has a HUGE head.

And here is a pic of him smiling while wearing a hat.

All in all it was a good weekend, even if it was all because of a funeral. It was really good to see my Aunt and Cousin. I hope that they know how much they are loved.

Bubble Beard

Keegan playing in the tub. These tend to be my favorite pics.

Mouse nose that came with his kids meal.
Slowest slide I have ever seen. He would acutally get stuck and have to wiggle the rest of the way down.

Playing the small version of "Wack-a-mole"

Josh got a new video game. It is a game that involves a lot of shooting. This is Keegan getting in on the action. I am sure a pop gun is the gun of choice.

The mysterious disaperance of a certain large purple Dinosaur.

So for Christmas Keegan got tub crayons. Washable crayons to use on the walls of the tub. They came with multiple colors and a cute ducky sponge to wash the walls with. I do have to say that the instructions don't tell you just how much fun they are for mom to clean up. While they are washable my 3 year old doesn't have any intrest in washing the walls. Well this night I gave him the purple crayon, the next time I looked at the tub, it looked like Barney had met his demise in our tub. The purple turned out to be the hardest to get off. It actually stained our tub and I had to get out the Comet with bleach to cover up the scene of the crime. Keegan has a great time with these crayons, maybe next time they will be reserved for Jen and Ben's house. ha ha

This wouldn't happen to be the face of a trouble maker would it??
