So on Tuesday after she was born we went to our check up with the midwife. I had realized she was looking a bit orange but figured we were being seen on Tuesday so I tried not to worry. Well, the midwife sent us straight from her office to the pediatricians office. We had her blood drawn and the numbers came back VERY high. So....off to the hospital we went to be admitted. I was FREAKING OUT! I know what her lab value was, and I know what is normal AND I know what a high Biliruben can cause. Tyler was in town and I had expected a quiet day at home so I had sent all the boys to the beach. Luckily they were almost here by the time I headed to the hospital.
Here's baby girl settled in her bed, she had double lights under her and a set on top of her
Depending on the nurse she "needed" the eye covers.
Don't worry, she wears her sunglasses at night. ;)
So sad but so cute
After about 36 hours on the lights her numbers were down enough that I could take her out of the light box and hold her for more than a few minutes. We had to hang out for an additional 6 hours to make sure her levels didn't bounce back up too high.
Trying to hang out in the "sun" she couldn't be on the artificial lights for those 6 hours but you'd better believe I had her hanging out in the window
The sun actually came out for a minute and she didn't like it, it was bright
After a few hours our super nice day nurse took out her IV.
At least our room had a view.

She does rock the eye coverings, because she still looks adorable!
It's so sad to see little ones in the hospital. Glad she is doing better.
