Valentines Weekend

This Valentines day we had a different kind of day. Unfortunately, my uncle Jerry passed away un-expectedly, a shock to us all! The Memorial open house was on Saturday, Valentines day. We drove to Montana on Friday and met all of my family. Some of which I hadn't seen in years, so long in fact that Josh hadn't met some of them. It was great to see all of my family, even if the reason for the gathering was so unfortunate.
Because it was Valentines day, I made the boys breakfast in bed. Luckily the hotel had a waffle maker. Keegan really enjoyed his breakfast.
Keegan made a new best friend. This is Chris, my cousin Matt's youngest boy. These 2 were so cute together. And the face that Chris is pulling is one that I am POSITIVE my parents have pictures of his dad doing the same one. Keegan also got a new dinosaur book, he told anyone who would listen about it.
Since my sisters husband Dan had never been to Hamilton, we walked around the little down town area. Dan has very sensitive ears, apparently, this is him wearing my moms scarf on his head to keep his ears warm.

Then when we got back to the car they got him a hat, my dad has a HUGE head.

And here is a pic of him smiling while wearing a hat.

All in all it was a good weekend, even if it was all because of a funeral. It was really good to see my Aunt and Cousin. I hope that they know how much they are loved.

Bubble Beard

Keegan playing in the tub. These tend to be my favorite pics.

Mouse nose that came with his kids meal.
Slowest slide I have ever seen. He would acutally get stuck and have to wiggle the rest of the way down.

Playing the small version of "Wack-a-mole"

Josh got a new video game. It is a game that involves a lot of shooting. This is Keegan getting in on the action. I am sure a pop gun is the gun of choice.

The mysterious disaperance of a certain large purple Dinosaur.

So for Christmas Keegan got tub crayons. Washable crayons to use on the walls of the tub. They came with multiple colors and a cute ducky sponge to wash the walls with. I do have to say that the instructions don't tell you just how much fun they are for mom to clean up. While they are washable my 3 year old doesn't have any intrest in washing the walls. Well this night I gave him the purple crayon, the next time I looked at the tub, it looked like Barney had met his demise in our tub. The purple turned out to be the hardest to get off. It actually stained our tub and I had to get out the Comet with bleach to cover up the scene of the crime. Keegan has a great time with these crayons, maybe next time they will be reserved for Jen and Ben's house. ha ha

This wouldn't happen to be the face of a trouble maker would it??

Funny Story

So quickly, the other night, we had put Keegan to bed. He had been in there probably 90 min. Long enough that he should have been very asleep. Well we are in the living room and we hear his door open. Out he comes and tells us "that was a good nap" he then proceedes to sit down on the couch as if it really was just a nap. What a hoot.
Here are just a couple of pics.
This is our antennae on our car. apparently it was really windy at the airport while we were gone.

This is Keegs in the pots and pans cupboard.
Sleeping and looking so dang cute at Mimi's house.

Super Fast

This is going to be short. I am at the library and only have 8 min left on my computer. Our Utah trip was great. We go to see everyone we wanted which is usually not the case. We always miss a couple of friends because there just isn't enough time. Keegan did great on the flight both ways. The ride home was a bit more difficult than the ride there. After a week of sparse naps and then a plane ride during nap time, it was all I could do to keep him happy. Luckily the ride is short. We got home to find a completely happy dog. Almost too happy. I think he got spoiled while we were gone.

One of the best parts of the trip was going to the Dr.s office. I know that sounds strange but, I worked with the BEST ladies ever. Keegan had lost his most favorite stuffed animal. I have no idea where it could be. My sister and I tore her house apart with no luck. Well, the stuffed animal in question was a free gift from an insurance company. The amazing ladies at the office tracked a new one down and gave it to him. He was so happy. He has cried many nights because it was missing. The funny thing is that he thinks it was his that he just lost. If you ask him where his owl was he responds "at Dr. Probst office" as if it were there all along.

The weather here has been COLD. Not quite as cold as when Jace and Jon were here but close. It is deceptive. It has actually been sunny out, so I think, great I can take Koda for a walk. It isn't until the wind hits you that you realize that it is still freezing. Nothing new to report, cold, same thing as usual. Lots of movies and playing with race cars. Keegan is obsessed with them. I guess that is ok. As long as it has wheels he is happy.

Picture Catch Up

Here are some recent pictures of Keegan, Christmas and all of the snow we have gotten.
Keegan all dressed and ready for some cold weather.

Koda trying to play in the snow.
Keegan decided to go for a swim in the tub.

A 3 story tree at the mall.

Christmas morning, opening presents.

Koda getting in on the action.

Keegan being silly at Red Robin.

At the mall, trying to kill time while Josh is at home napping.

My new Sous Chef
He cut all of the mushrooms for dinner. He loved it. Good thing you can cut them with a butter knife.

More pictures of our Utah trip to come.

Yay!! We made it to Utah

So, is it sad that the thing we are most excited about is Cafe Rio? No don't get me wrong, We love visiting our family but there isn't anything thing like the Rio in Spokane. MMMMMM. I know what will be for lunch tomorrow.

Anyway, we flew in and went straight to my parents house. My Mom had held Christmas for us. She still had all of her decorations up and with that come a tree with presents underneath. She is nuts. She sent us our presents to Spokane but decided that her tree looked bare so Keegan had a few to unwrap when he got there. We had a great dinner of all of our favorites that she makes for Christmas. ( Again, food)

Our trip this time is going to be busy. The boys both have Dr's appts. We are going to visit with some friends of ours that we never see but always wonder after we do, why don't we see them more?

Our best friend Tyler moved to Phoenix and he will be in town. We are excited cause he moved down before we could see him one more time, and all the snow in Spokane is scaring him away from visiting us. We were not happy with his move so all I have to say about this is that I hope the cockroaches are bigger in Phoenix than the HUGE ones we had in Tucson. Oh and Tyler, remember that there are 6 species of rattle snakes in that area!!!

I am sure that I will have pictures to post next time.

Whew.....

What fun we have had the last couple of weeks. Josh's parents came into town the 1st weekend in December. We had a lot of fun while they were here! Then just 4 days after we took them back to the airport, Jacey and Jon flew into town. We showed them the sights of Spokane, the few that there are. We also went to Coeur D' Alene with all of them. The main street in CDA reminds me of downtown Park City. Cute shops and older buildings. There is a little mall there that had Santa. I was so looking forward to another year with a pic of Keegs sitting on Santa's lap and screaming. But no luck.
This year Keegs was happy to sit on Santa's lap if it meant he got a sucker.
All around CDA there are these moose. You can get a map and follow him to a bunch of different things to see. We didn't do it it was freezing.

There is a super cute toy store that has a tiny carosel in it. Keegs got to go around quite a few times. Thanks to Uncle Jon who kept feeding it quarters.

Jacey needed some pants hemmed so after I cut off about 5 inches, I sewed them together and the brothers wore them as headbands while playing some N64. They are Crazy.

This is in CDA again, I took this the week that Paul and Tari were here. I didn't realize it as I was taking it but it looks like the buffalo is doing his business on my kids head. YIKES!!

Now for some pics of Winter Storm 2008.
This was the 1st night that it started. I took Keegan and Koda out to play in it. Koda was so excited about being out in the snow that he got kind of rowdy.
Koda grabbed Keegan by the pant leg and drug him backwards for about 30 feet. It was hilarious. The whole time Keegs was trying to grab snow to stop himself. And he was yelling at Koda to let go. I guess since I knew he wasn't getting hurt, I couldn't help but laugh.

The snow kept coming all night. Keegan wanted to go out and play. But with this much snow he couldn't do much.

Doesn't he look like Ralphie's little brother here.

Koda having a blast in the snow. He would take snow over cactus any day.

All bundled up! And I was FREEZING.

Since playing in the snow is such hard work, he decided to make a chair. He sat there forever. I had to drag him in the house.

The snow is way too deep for a 2 year old, so he decided crawling was better.

Terrible 2's

So here is what happens when you leave daddy in charge for just a few minutes. ( I should say that it was right in the middle of the 1 and only show he has to watch every week. ) Last night Keegan decided to do some TP'ing. The roll of TP in his bathroom can't be on the roll thing cause then he rolls all of it on to the floor. I had put the roll on the counter and he decided to string it out through the house, we then realized that there was probably more, sure enough, 1/2 of the roll was in the toilet along with the actual cardboard roll.

Josh got to clean clean up since he had been in charge.
If this is what he gets into at age 2 I am worried, what is 3 going to be like?

Just some randomness

When I was loading pics last time I didn't get all of our Seattle pics so here are some more and then some random pics of our daily lives.
On our way home from Seattle we passed the Oscar Meyer Weiner moblie. It was way too big to get a pic as we were passing so here is a pic in the side mirror.

Here is the HUGE bridge that we had to cross. I hate driving across bridges!

Here is a pic of Peace Arch. Keegan is the tiny brown dot running toward it.

Snoqualmie falls again, this time you can kind of see the amount of water spraying up.

The 2nd biggest leaf I have ever seen. That is my foot next to the leaf, and most of you know I have huge feet so that makes the leaf pretty darn big. It is the 2nd biggest leaf because when I found the biggest leaf ever it was too dark to take a picture. oh well.

Here are just some pics of our daily lives.
This one is at Costco. Keegan really wanted this GIGANTIC stuffed animal. We had to tell him that if we brought it home it would scare Koda, he didn't want to do that.

The boys reading in the Giraffe tent. Josh will probably be mad that I posted this but, too bad.

Keegan at his very first movie. Well the very first movie that we brought him to that we intended him to watch and not sleep through. He sat pretty well through the whole thing. He calls Madagascar the Zebra movie.

Seattle

This past weekend we went to Seattle. What a beautiful place. I have decided, who needs to live in Salt Lake when you could live somewhere like Seattle. I have also told Josh that his next assignment needs to be over there somewhere. AMAZING!!!
On our way over we stopped at Snoqualmie Falls. It was somewhere Josh had always wanted to see but never managed to get over there. We didn't know at first but the river was flooding. Normally the falls aren't so big. There was so much mist in the air it was raining without really raining. We saw the falls from the top and then decided to hike to the bottom. It's only 1/2 mile down, no big deal right? Once we were part way down, with a 2 year old mind you, Josh reminded me that we have to hike up everything we are walking down. But I was determined. The walk down was gorgeous, and the walk up, well needless to say it too, much longer coming up than it did going down. Oh well, we made it!!

The next day we went to Peace Arch Park, there is a big arch that once you go under it you are technically in Canada. Keegan ran straight through the arch and fell down in the mud. So he had Canadian mud on him the rest of the day.

On the way back we went a different route and went over Deception Pass. So pretty. You go over a HUGE bridge that connects 2 different islands.

The boys looking out over Decption Pass. It was really windy but worth getting out of the car.

Keegan and Josh walking through Pike's Place Market. Keegan had to take his RSL (Real Salt Lake) backpack everywhere. And since we forgot the stroller he walked a lot this weekend. And if any of you know my kid. He would much rather be carried.

What a great weekend, before we had even left Seattle we were already talking about our next trip over there. Can't wait.
